Bison Run

Designer: Brian Jeffords

Course Description:

Welcome to Bison Run! A place where the Buffalo truly did roam in their heyday. You could find Bison Run in states like Nebraska, Kansas, parts of Colorado or even Oklahoma. With wild grasses, prairie flowers, windswept plains and shaded lakesides it's a visual treat and you will enjoy every minute of your walk. The course plays long from the back tees and your longer irons will get a workout. You'll see forced carries and long approach shots but you'll also use those long irons from the tee a few times unless you want to take on a difficult but rewarding drive over and around the many hazards that dot the course. Bunkering is varied throughout and you'll find yourself in one or more bunkers if you go pin seeking. The greens are receptive but you will need to plan your landing areas very carefully if you want to be left with a short putt. Your putter will also be challenged during your round. ENJOY BISON RUN!

Staff Review:

Jeffords gives us another masterpiece with his newest, Bison Run. This countryside track has a simplistic beauty to it that makes it stand out from the rest. You can easily imagine playing Bison Run on a summer day with a slight breeze in Mid-June with an adult beverage in the cup holder of your golf cart. The blending from fairway to rough to heavy rough to deep grass is natural looking and flows perfectly. It is apparent that great time and care was taken with planting and sculpting. The bunkering at Bison Run is top notch and placed with great care as to provide a tough, but fair test. The greens run a bit fast, but the look of the course would make you think that they would run fast here in real life anyway. Even so, the greens are very fair and there are birdies to be found out there.

Well done Brian, this 5 star badge is well deserved!
