Inspired by Augusta National, Mary Ellen Plantation Golf Club offers a great blend of shot-making challenges and breathtaking beauty. Although a lot of the tee shots require an acurate shot through naps among the trees, the fairways are wide and generous. Only one cut of rough and patches of pine straw beneath the canopy of trees, along with a few strategically placed bunkers will find the most errant of tee shots. The challenge of the course is found in the undulating green complexes, which vary in shape and size and feature multiple potential hole locations. Although fast, the greens are receptive, and will award an accurate shot. An errant shot will be severely punished, but bail-out areas and generous roll-out areas were carefully considered to make the course fun and replayable.
