Except for the glaring omission of the water tower (come on Brandon!), this is a fantastic representation of Firestone. It's long, narrow, and the green angles all work against the golfer getting near to the pin. It's probably not the most exciting or inventive brand of golf, but it does feel just like what the PGA players must face every year. I've played the old Rural version a few times, and now the new Rustic version, and it remains a difficult course if you are not on top of your game. Putting from above the hole can lead to some very bad endings.
Visually the Rural edition did not look that bad actually, as none of the bad grasses or bushes from that theme were included. The Rustic is a nice, if subtle, update, and there are a few additional sections of long grass added if I am not mistaken.
This one will certainly be great to have each fall to play along with the Bridgestone, and is a nice update for the what was the first of Brandon's suddenly outstanding library of real course creations.
